The Volunteers who work our bingo sessions on Thursdays and Fridays have done another outstanding job this year. Post 3 has donated $37, 187 this year to various programs and causes that we deem deserve and need our support. Because of bingo donations have been made to Food Bank of CENLA, Senior Citizens Center, VA Medical Center Patient Bingo, Crime Stoppers, CASA, Ronald McDonald House, Louisiana Teen Challenge, Scholarships, CENLA Shrine Club, BARK, Special Olympics, Alexandria All Stars, Pineville High School Speech and Debate team, Bolton High School, Triple R Riding Club, Veterans Assistance, Buckeye High School JROTC, Diocese of Alexandria, Post 64 Band, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, WW II Museum, Habitat for Humanity, Doll and Toy Fund, American Legion National Emergency Fund, American Legion Comfort Warriors, Oratorical Contest, Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs, Alexandria Pineville Convention Bureau, Pineville High School JROTC, Galloway Rescue and Recovery Program, St. Mary’s, Girls State, Boys State, First St. Mark Baptist Church and Cemetery restoration fund, Bolton Avenue Lion’s Club and Heart City Lion’s Club. Without our hard-working volunteers our support for our community and other causes would not be possible.
Are you tired of all the requests for donations to Veterans causes? Well I am, and would like to share with you information about American Legion Operation Comfort Warriors. Operation Comfort Warriors embodies the very spirit of the American Legion. Not one donated cent has gone into marketing, administration or staff. All donated monies go to service members and families in need, through the DoD facilities that help them. You can donate by going to Operation Comfort Warriors or mail a check to:
